plate 2, final print - many hours of work, probably around 10-12 hours
this is my best print out of my etching class. i am very proud of it, and it was also the first time i used aquatint too etching - linework and aquatint, a la poupe method music was my inspiration... i listen to a lot of music while i work, and it helps me Comments

printing is very process-oriented, and i really enjoyed it. i had to basically layer each tone over and over, in a sense... using acid to do so it was time-consuming but enjoyable and worth it to me this was by far my best print. i'm glad you liked it, and thank you for the comment. -- Commissions + Gift Art + Inspirations I hate that I never seem to be able to give a detailed response about why I like an image, but I really like this one.
I love the stoplight, and the yellow of his eye. I immediately associate the two, I'm not sure if that's what you meant to do or not. His teeth make me think of buildings in the city. And I imagine that girl holding an iPod out, swinging the headphones towards him...trying to bring a piece of her world into his. It's just stunning, and I envy your talent. -- I want to see the light leave your eyes. |
